On February 28, at the regular sitting the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security debated and endorsed a group of legislative initiatives which would be proposed to include in the draft law of the agenda of the RA NA upcoming regular sittings.

The debate of one legislative initiative included in the agenda was postponed.

The Committee debated the draft law on Ratifying the Agreement on Terrorism in the Frameworks of Cooperation of Independent States and Other Forcible Manifestations of Extremism, as well as Exchange of Information in the Sphere of Fight against Their Financing, which presented the Acting Director of the RA National Security Service Edward Martirosyan.

Afterwards in the first reading the draft law on Amendment and Addendum to the RA Law on Compensation of Damages Caused to the Life or Health of the Servicemen during the RA Defense authored by the Government was debated.

The RA Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan and the deputy of the RA NA Bright Armenia Gevorg Gorgisyan expressed their viewpoints on the draft law.

The draft law on Ratifying the Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS Participant States of Provision of Readiness of Mutual Aid of Elimination of Their Consequences in the Nuclear Accident or Emergence of Ray Accident Situations was debated and approved by the Committee.

The packages of the draft laws were debated in the second reading, but were not amended during the period from the first to the second reading.
